Our Mission Statement:

“The Shepherd’s Center of Chesterfield enriches the lives of adults 60 and over by offering opportunities for interfaith community service, lifelong learning, and assistance in maintaining an independent lifestyle.”

The Shepherd’s Center of Chesterfield, Virginia is a non-profit, interfaith organization
of senior adults who donate their time, talents, professional expertise, automobiles,
gasoline, etc., to help other senior adults remain independent in their own homes.
Established in August 2001 with the following mission: “To enrich the lives of adults 50 and over by offering opportunities for interfaith community service, lifelong learning, and assistance in maintaining an independent lifestyle.”
Put: “We are seniors who volunteer to help other seniors continue to live healthy and independent lives in their own homes for as long as possible.”
Because many older adults cannot afford or do not have the transportation necessary to get to medical appointments, go to the grocery store, or maintain their residences. The Shepherd’s Center’s volunteers address these needs by providing free accompanied transportation to medical appointments, prescription pickup, and grocery shopping.
2. A minor home repair service called “HandyHands.”
3. There is more to life than just staying healthy and safe. Our seniors volunteer to be instructors in our 24-week lifelong learning program, Adventures in Learning, so other seniors can continue to engage their minds and stay actively involved in their communities.
